Poles on way back
THOUSANDS of Poles who fled Britain to escape the recession are now heading back
THOUSANDS of Poles who fled Britain to escape the recession are now heading back — after finding things are even worse in Poland.
And this time when they can’t get a job at home they are bringing their families with them because they can claim more benefits here.
A family of four could pocket an average of £715 a week — compared with just £125 in Poland.
Jan Mokrzycki, chairman of the Federation of Poles in Great Britain, said: “I suppose it is inevitable that people will come back if there are no jobs to suit people’s skills in Poland.”
