Children from Holy Cross Catholic Primary School in Bedminster are getting to grips with new bilingual reading resources.
The Interactive literacy pack will supplement the school's existing reading scheme.
It contains books, a CD-Rom and a talking pen which, at the touch of a page, narrates the text aloud in English and Polish versions of the books.
Denise Fannin, literacy co-ordinator at Holy Cross, said: "As a multi-cultural school with a growing Polish community we are committed to ensuring that all our children reach their full potential.
The pack was funded through a donation from electricity company Western Power Distribution.
